NACA Tournament ends today

The National Association of Christian Athletes tournament concludes today.  The varsity girls volleyball team was seeded 9th and won their first match against Heritage, TN., however #2 seeded Real Life handed the Lady Knights their first loss in the next round.  Still alive in the double elimination tournament the Knights faced Chattanooga A.  Madison lost both games, so the team finished its season.  Looking back the team has much to be thankful for–the first ever winning season at 13-5.

The Madison Academy soccer team defeated Real Life 2-1 and advanced to the next round.  Their opponent is Spring Valley Academy (SVA) and they are seeded at #7.  Madison Academy was defeated by SVA 2-0 and by Grace 7-1.  Hearing through the grapevine that our kids are enjoying the experience, especially the worships.

Abigail Anderson and Nathan Johnson were selected to the all tournament Division 3 team.

Teams placed in Division 3 at NACA

The National Association of Christian Athletes tournament begins today.  After pool play yesterday both the volleyball team and the soccer team were placed in Division 3.  The volleyball team is seeded 9th out of 10 teams and the soccer team is seeded 3rd out of 9 teams in their respective sports. Bell places 1st for final Cross Country meet at Dayspring Academy

In the final cross country event of the season held on Thursday, October 29 at Dayspring Academy, Marlana Bell placed 1st overall in the girls division with a time of 24:04.  There were three boys from our team who ran as well. Jack Wheeler finished 1st for our team with a time of 00:22:32:759.  Jordan P Brown followed with a time of 00:26:03:876 and Zach Levinskas finished 3rd on the team with a time of 00:30:08:44.

Volleyball and soccer teams participate in NACA tournament

The varsity girls volleyball team and the co-ed soccer team traveled to Dayton, Tennessee to participate in the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) annual tournament.  This years volleyball team enters with a 13-5 record, the first winning record since the program began.  The soccer team plays most if its games in the spring however in order to prepare for this tournament the  soccer team arranged a few games but came away win less. Team MCJ wins Bible Bowl 2015

Team MCJ, [Mike Downs, Cody Tishaw and Jake Johnson] narrowly defeated the Abibrees [Abigail Anderson, Brianna Underwood, and Brianna Burks] in the final round of the 2015 Bible Bowl.  This years questions came from the gospel of Mark.  For the past three weeks 10 teams representing all the classes and 30% of the entire student body responded to questions from the book of Mark.  The first round format was five short answer questions, followed by first to raise their hands and ending with a round to complete the verse.  The winning team will choose a restaurant and join Chaplin Jamieson in a victory dinner.

Boys place 1st in cross country meet

The official results from the cross country meet at Dayspring on October 20th place Madison Academy boys in first place.  The first four overall to cross the line were Ian Peterson, Jack Wheeler, Jordan P Brown and Ben Shepherd.  Zachary Levinskas improved his time by over a minute in this race and finished 5th from our team.  The final cross country event is scheduled for Dayspring, Thursday, October 29.

On the girls side Marlana Bell finished 1st overall with a time of 22:15 and with Rose Benoit finishing 3rd overall.

Lady Knights finish regular season with a win

The varsity girls volleyball team defeated Lancaster Christian Academy 3-0 in their final regular season game played at Madison Campus Elementary and finished with an overall record of 13-5.  The seniors on the team, Cyrah Laird and Amy Sanderson, were recognized for their participation and effort in making this team special.  The team will participate in the National Association of Christian Athletes volleyball tournament, October 27-October 30, 2015.

Madison Academy Fall Festival had food and fun

Boys Cross Country team finishes 2nd

The cross country team participated in a meet at Lancaster on Thursday, October 15th and placed second overall. Ian Peterson led our team effort with a time of 23:31.  Our second place team member was Jack Wheeler with a time of 26:38.  The final two team members finished within a minute of each other: Joshua Mixon-29:00 and Zachary Levinskas-29:55.

On the girls side Rose Benoit and Marlana Bell finished 1st and 2nd overall with times of 28:43 and 29:25 respectively.  The next cross country meet is at Dayspring, October 20th.
