Poetry Out Loud

We are incredibly proud of our students… all of whom have chosen to DO SOMETHING HARD!!!! Madison Academy is participating in this year’s Poetry Out Loud competition, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation. Class competitions were held the last two days. The top students from each class will compete at our school finals competition on Wednesday, January 25 during our 11 AM assembly. We encourage the community to come to this event on Wednesday, January 25 at 11:00am in the chapel and support our MA students in their literary endeavor. The winner of the school competition will be eligible to compete at the state championship in Nashville in March!

Here are the participants in the school-wide competition: Freshmen-Andre Crayton, Robyn Forde Whitefield, Pax Fordham, Sean Moore, Joy Osborne, Kris Ware; Sophomores-Rose Benoit, Will Buzby, Jake Johnson; Juniors-Jordan P. Brown, Leah Holloway, Brianna Underwood, Jackson Webb; Seniors-Myles Limonta, James Jackson and Andrew Ware.

Madison plays in MLK Basketball Tournament at Collegedale Academy

Over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, Collegedale Academy hosted a boys and girls basketball tournament that included teams from Andrews Academy, Georgia Cumberland Academy, Mount Pisgah Academy and Tennessee Christian Preparatory School [TCPS]. The Madison Academy Lady Knights finished in 2nd place in their division. They played Andrews Academy varsity, GCA varsity and Collegedale Academy jv to get to the championship game.

The Madison Academy Knights played the Andrews Academy varsity, GCA varsity and Collegedale Academy jv and placed 4th in the tournament. The team played well but lost some very close games.

2020

Madison splits with Christian Community Schools in basketball games

Yesterday the varsity basketball teams from Madison Academy and Christian Community Schools competed in an away game. The Lady Knights won their game and improving their overall record to 12-1. In the late game the Knights lost and fall to 4-10. Both teams travel to Collegedale Academy for an MLK Tournament. Here are the box scores from last nights games.

SA announces Spirit Week events

Student Association organizes class basketball tournament

Mrs. Fuentes, SA sponsor, announced in chapel the creation of a class basketball tournament to be played during assembly time the next two weeks. The rules for participation are different from the class volleyball games where everyone was required to play. For the basketball games it was decided that at least one girl would need to be on the court at all times. Here is the schedule of the games:

Madison splits with West Academy in basketball games

The varsity girls and boys basketball teams traveled to West Academy last night. The Lady Knights improved their overall team record to 11-1. The Knights lost and their overall team record is now 4-9. The next game is Thursday night at Christian Community School. Here are the box scores from last nights game.
