We will be finishing a Sabbath school building (completing the walls and putting a roof on), and the mission house (mainly interior work, i.e. painting, making bunk beds, installing electrical wires and ceiling fans, etc.) there. We will also be doing radio evangelism and VBS for the kids. 3-27-2009 We worked a half day today and went to the Xuanan Mayan ruins in the afternoon and learned so much from the experience. We currently have no running water and haven't had any since first thing this morning. Needless to say, I'm keeping my distance from the kids. Hopefully the water will be up and running later tonight so we can get some showers in. The heat index today was 100 and mix that with a lot of work and an afternoon of hiking, showers are defintely needed! We miss everyone and want everyone to know that we are safe, enjoying ourselves and getting a lot accomplished. Continue to pray for us and we will keep sending updates.

Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings from Belize! It has been a busy past two days! After a short plane ride we arrived Wednesday afternoon in Belize City. The minute we stepped off the plane we felt the instant humdity surround us. We had a nice scenic, bumpy, 2 hour bus ride to get to Santa Elena. The place we are staying is nice, much better than we expected. It is absolutly beautiful here, and the weather is bearable. We had a very successful first day of work, and we got alot done, the people were impressed. We joined steel beams and layed them on the roof, dug ditches to lay foundation, and even got the first layer of brick down on the foundation. Everyone was working hard, and we all worked together as a great team! Mrs. Gatling became a pro with the recripricating saw, and Mrs. Sutherland surprised us all with her toughness! She's so strong! The weather is so hot the in morning, but in the afternoon, a nice breeze picked up so it was much better, and someone even brought us popsicles! The food here has been delicious!!! (and that is an understatement!) I am going to come back a little plump, very tan, with alot of muscle! =] Last night we even got treated to ice cream in town! We are getting spoiled! Today we are working half the day and then going to the ruins in the afternoon. Jewel and Anthony are currently down at the local Adventist radio station making an anouncement for VBS. We will be very busy with construction and VBS, so please continue to keep us in your prayers! I think I speak for everyone here when I say we are having SOOOO much fun! We miss you all and send our love. See you Soon!
<3 always,
Kaitlyn Min
3/29/2009 Well, the MGM crew has definitely eaten well, we have had the best food ever served on a mission trip. Our cooks have been fabulous and we have enjoyed a lot of fresh pineapple rounds and around 10 delicious watermelons. Last night, we decided to wake up early and get to work so that by lunch time, we would have a day's work done, and be out of the sun. So, this morning, at 5:30 we loaded up on the bus and headed toward the work site. Our task for the day included spreading dirt in preparation for a concrete pour, laying more block, and attaching a roof over the soon to be Sabbath school building. Mrs. Sutherland, Dr. and Michael Min, Mrs. Gatling, Anthony, and me attached sheets of metal roofing. The polished metal only added to the day's heat and we were drenched by the end of the day. Tonight kicked off our first night of VBS, which was a great success. We didnt know what to anticipate, and when over 100 kids showed up, we were amazed. Never did we think that so many would come out for our first night. The worship portion of the night was simultaneously broadcast over the radio for all to hear. If you want to check out the station, its faithfmbelize.com. On a side note, the consistency of running water has been a little unpredictable, we never know when we will be able to wash dishes or take a shower. Unfortuneately, we are not the only ones affected, those farther uphill from us also lack water. Our only means of communication comes through internet, cell phone service is available to few. But we are having a blast helping others even while enduring the heat and obstacles that arise.

3/31/2009 Hey family and friends,
Today we again, began our day at a dark and cool 5:30. The job site was set and ready for the following 5 hour pour of a concrete for deck area. The rebar was set and tied, and our minds were prepped for a hard day's work. We began slowly and eventually found our groove as each part of the work "machine" process fit very nicely and by the end of the day, we definitely pulled off an incredible feat. We were a perfectly oiled machine, and worked well together. Even the girls stepped up and carried the 5 gallon buckets filled with sand. The group finished the job in about 5 and a half hours, when the job was expected to take over seven. We returned to set up for VBS even though we all wanted to take a shower. Today, we had about 190 kids show up for VBS and all though everyone was tired and exhausted from the day's work, we still pulled it together and put on another great day for the kids. We were all touched, and even though we are doing this for the kids, we still get something in return. The food is still delicious and the weather still hot. Fortuneately we have been treated to some of the best popsicles after a hard day of work. Tomorrow is our much anticipated day of rest, we are waking up even earlier than normal in order to make it onto our boat for snorkeling. We get to hit two sweet spots to snorkel and are really excited, for many, this is their first time snorkeling.
Please continue to pray for us, we miss you all...
