Measurement. Accountability. Growth.

The testing program at Madison Academy is designed to accomplish three goals. First of all, we want to better understand where each student is academically in relation to other students at the same grade level nationally. Second, we want to be able to measure individual student growth from year to year in order to best understand how to help each student be as successful as possible. Finally, we want to understand how our students as a group perform and grow from year to year in order to make more effective decisions about school curriculum plans and program changes.
In addition to the PSAT, the SAT and the ACT, we administer the ITBS to students every year in order to measure student progress longitudinally (from year to year). The level of improvement shown by students is an indicator of the impact that pour program has had on their learning. Our goal is to have our students improve from year to year at a rate greater than that of comparable schools in our area and nationally. While most schools test and report on only their college prep or honor students, we test (and include results in our school-wide reports for) all students in our school.
