Madison Academy soccer match ends in tie

In an away game with Mt. Juliet Christian Academy played the Madison Academy soccer team to a 4-4 tie.  The team’s overall record is now 1-1-2.  Their next game is tonight at 5:45pm here at Madison Academy. They will be competing with Aaron Academy.

Soccer updates

In a high scoring game the Madison Academy soccer team played to a 6-6 tie with West Academy in a conference away game on Monday, March 21.  The next day was a non conference home game with Franklin Classical and Madison Academy won 4-1.  The soccer team record is 1-1-1.  The next game is scheduled for Thursday, March 24 with Dayspring Academy.  This game was reschedule on April 25th due to weather conditions.

Madison falls to Westmoreland High School

In the first soccer game of the season the Madison Academy Knights lost to Westmoreland High School.  Both teams played well however at the end of the first half the score was 3-1 in favor of Westmoreland.  In the second half Madison Academy scored two quick goals to even the score at 3-3.  With a short time remaining in the game the Westmoreland team scored the go ahead goal and that was the final score 4-3.  Below is a team photo.

NACA Tournament ends today

The National Association of Christian Athletes tournament concludes today.  The varsity girls volleyball team was seeded 9th and won their first match against Heritage, TN., however #2 seeded Real Life handed the Lady Knights their first loss in the next round.  Still alive in the double elimination tournament the Knights faced Chattanooga A.  Madison lost both games, so the team finished its season.  Looking back the team has much to be thankful for–the first ever winning season at 13-5.

The Madison Academy soccer team defeated Real Life 2-1 and advanced to the next round.  Their opponent is Spring Valley Academy (SVA) and they are seeded at #7.  Madison Academy was defeated by SVA 2-0 and by Grace 7-1.  Hearing through the grapevine that our kids are enjoying the experience, especially the worships.

Abigail Anderson and Nathan Johnson were selected to the all tournament Division 3 team.

Teams placed in Division 3 at NACA

The National Association of Christian Athletes tournament begins today.  After pool play yesterday both the volleyball team and the soccer team were placed in Division 3.  The volleyball team is seeded 9th out of 10 teams and the soccer team is seeded 3rd out of 9 teams in their respective sports. Volleyball and soccer teams participate in NACA tournament

The varsity girls volleyball team and the co-ed soccer team traveled to Dayton, Tennessee to participate in the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) annual tournament.  This years volleyball team enters with a 13-5 record, the first winning record since the program began.  The soccer team plays most if its games in the spring however in order to prepare for this tournament the  soccer team arranged a few games but came away win less. Madison adds golf to menu of sports options

Madison Academy is adding golf as a sport to its interscholastic sports program.  The season will play out in the fall and spring.  Coach Perkins from Madison Campus Elementary is leading out with this team.  Tryouts are Wednesday, August 19th at 4:30pm at the Riverside Golf Course.

 

In other Madison Academy sports news the cross country team is forming and has began to practice.  There is a parent meeting for Golf, Cross Country and Fall Soccer on Monday, August 17 in the library at 6pm. Coaches will provide information about the sports and their seasons and paperwork for parents to sign if their child is interested.

 

The soccer team is scheduling a few games in the fall so that the team can experience tournament play. They will go to the National Association of Christian Athletes [NACA] Volleyball & Soccer Tournament held each year in  Dayton, TN.  The girls volleyball team will participate as well.  This year’s tournament is scheduled to be played October 28-30, 2015.
